It's Beautiful Out! Why are You so Miserable!

People absolutely amaze me. On Saturday, the weather was gorgeous here in Boston. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and all was right with the world.

After a nice brunch with some old friends, I decided to drive and land wherever the wind took me. I ended up in Kittery, Maine at the Outlet stores. Which if you know me, I hate to shop. But yet again, all was right with the world, so this had to be a good experience, right?

Before taking the plunge into the nearest store, I realized I needed a caffeinated beverage. So, I popped into the closest McD's I could find for a diet coke. While in line, I was floored. Next to me was a mother and daughter getting lunch. However there was a fry missing from the order and the daughter starts yelling at guy behind the counter, as if he purposely forgot the fry. The poor guy was as sweet as could be and this young lady just would not let up. Of course, she caught my eye and I gave her a look that made her skin crawl. She then got her fry and left.

After thanking the woman who served me, I began to wonder: It's a perfect day. Does this young lady not see that? And why in the world would you yell at someone for forgetting a french fry. This guy is making minimum wage to serve you and your attitude. I would have forgotten the fry as well.

Despite that slight glitch in the matrix, I continued to have the perfect day. Emily at Banana Republic was incredibly helpful and just kept bringing me outfits that she thought would be perfect for me, despite the 20 minute line for dressing rooms. I tried to be as quick as possible, so others could get their turn.

After a few great purchases, I reminded myself that the perfect day is a mindset. You have to be open to it. You have to want it. You have to want life to hand you small daily gifts. And most importantly, you have to be grateful when you receive it.

Thanks Everyone at the McDonald's and Banana Republic in Kittery, Maine for my perfect day on Saturday. :-)

Love,

Ja-Nae
