Looking for Performance Opportunities in Boston?
HI!
I am starting a "salon" in my loft and am looking for acts that need a place to perform.
Acts can include:
1) Music (solo or ensemble)
2) Comedy shows (including improv)
3) Theatre
4) Performance of New Works
5) readings of any of the above
Want to know how this works:
1)I provide the place (1,885 sq. ft space), promotes it to my list, (over 3,000 in Boston) and provides light apps.
2)You promote it to your fanbase, friends, family
3)After costs are recooped, you receive 50% of the door!
Want to apply:
Send your press kit or as much info about you/your ensemble to janaescamp/at/gmail.com
Want to be put on the mailing list:
Email us with the subject line: Add to salon mailing list.
Thanks Everyone! Hope all is well.
Love,
Ja-Naé

Shout if You Love Brazilians!
Ok..........
I know that many of my friends will not even dare to go there, but honestly, they are missing out! To have a brazilian (and I don't mean men. Though the few Brazilians I have dated have been wonderful people and great significant others) means:
1) To feel incredibly sexy all the time (even if your hair and makeup are not done)
2) To have even self confidence to strip down naked in front of a stranger
3) To know a special secret about yourself, that no one else knows (except for your partner and the woman who waxed you)
I hated getting Brazilians at first. They hurt and I was embarassed to have someone "grooming" me. Then I realized that there are tricks to make it MUCH easier:
1) Find the expert: Honestly, a lot of these women have NO idea what they are doing. I would do research online and find the expert in your area. I believe, I used Yelp! to find me Rita here in Boston.
Honestly, Rita makes me feel so comfortable, I forget how ackward it was with the other waxers I had been to. Rita is like family!
2) Take Extra Strength Tylenol a half an hour before your appointment.
Makes a world of a difference!
3) Breathe out as she is pulling: This is KEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When you breathe out, you relax your muscles and it makes it 90% easier to do and you barely feel it.
Mind you, I have a LOW pain threshold. One of the reasons I do not want kids (there are a few) is because of the pain. So, all you mom's out there, I give you credit. However, if you've been on the fence about personal grooming, just know that a Brazilian is a walk in the park in comparison to what you've gone through.
Ok, off to do some work!
Love,
Ja-Nae
